ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY

Astro-English: from Astronese, the word receptor is indeed based on the noun reception denoting “the action of receiving” with the suffix -or denoting “a person”, altogether meaning “a person who receives” and in the context of Astronism, “a person who receives by way of the astronomical world.
